DoT approaches Law Ministry over final policy guidelines for 3G services

The DoT has approached the Law Ministry to review a new clause out in by the former in the final policy guidelines relating to 3G service, reports the PTI.

 

The new clause put by DoT sates that if the successful bidder are not allotted spectrum within the stipulated time then they will be entitled for compensation with interests.

 

Another issue up for review is whether to allow simultaneous bidding for GSM and CDMA players.

 

Appoval from Law Ministry on the above mentioned issues will finally set the stage for issuance of NIA (notice inviting applications) from DoT.
