Bharti Infratel Q3 net profit up 48%

Telecom tower infrastructure services provider Bharti Infratel on Thursday reported an increase of 48 percent in Q3 profit to Rs 410.5 crore.

The Consolidated revenues for the quarter, at Rs. 2,731 Crore grew by 4% over the corresponding period last year. Consolidated EBITDA improved to Rs. 1,130 Crore, up 16% Y-o-Y, representing an operating margin of 41% and Consolidated E EBIT at Rs. 603 Crore, witnessed a 46% Y-o-Y growth. Consolidated profit before tax at Rs 616 Crore, grew 63% Y-o-Y and consolidated profit after tax came in at Rs. 411 Crore, up by 62% Y-o-Y, it said.

Quarter-on-quarter other income of the company grew 61 percent to Rs 91.7 crore while total expenses declined 0.7 percent to Rs 2,128 crore and finance cost fell 41 percent to Rs 79.2 crore in the quarter gone by. Tax expenses increased 10 percent to Rs 205.1 crore from Rs 186.3 crore. Bharti has increased its towers to 82,813 during December quarter as against 82,476 in previous quarter and 81,389 in a year ago period.

Akhil Gupta, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Bharti Infratel Limited, said, “The regulatory environment in telecom sector is improving and more clarity will emerge  after the auctions on 3rd February 2014.With price h hikes and the data revenues witnessing strong growth, the operators have started focusing on roll out o of 3G networks and we expect this momentum to increase in coming quarters. We believe that faster roll outs of 3G and 4G networks post successful spectrum auctions will be the key in the coming year.”
