Videocon mulls 26% offloading of telecom arm
TT Bureau |  |  03 Sep 2010

Videocon Group’s telecom services subsidiary Videocon Telecommunications is in talks with foreign investors for offloading about 26% stake

The company’s Chairman said earlier this week, "We are looking for a total valuation of Rs 15,000 crore."

Ironically for the company which was earlier known as Datacom, the move to hunt for a foreign partner comes at a time when other new entrants such as Uninor, Etisalat and S Tel have already roped in such partners. Datacom was the first to have things in place (read top level management and talent) a couple of years back. However things fell apart because of management control issues between the Nahatas and Dhoots.
