TN retailers threaten not to sell Airtel, Aircel, Vodofone pre-paid cards
TT Correspondent |  |  12 Jul 2011
Telecom retail vendors in Tamil Nadu today threatened not to sell new pre-paid SIM cards of Airtel, Aircel and Vodafone from July 13, alleging lesser commission, and mounting customers complaints of operators charging for unsolicited value-added services.

“We were told that we will be getting seven per cent from the recharged amount as a commission, but today they (operators) are giving only 3.3 per cent,” Tamil Nadu Cellular Retailers' Federation (TNCRF) Secretary, Mr A. Namashivayam, said.

Unsolicited VAS activation is a menace now. If the copmany (operator) is applying unfair means to extract money from the customers, then the step proposed to be taken by TNCRF is right. We are living in country where corporates are stealing public money (forget other methods) directly from their pocket, but no govt. or controlling body (i.e. TRAI, DOT) is doing anything to stop this. SHAME to us. Why can't a busine thrive & survive on genuine practices?
