Nokia Siemens hails National Telecom Policy

Nokia Siemens has welcomed the National Telecom Policy which got approval from the Union Cabinet on Thursday.

 

In a statement the company said that it welcomes the new telecom policy which focuses on providing broadband for all, local manufacturing and security is welcomed by Nokia Siemens Networks.

 

“As a specialist in mobile broadband, we remain committed towards working with telecom operators to further increase teledensity, enhance customer experience and empower communities”, the company said.

 

“To support domestic manufacturing and export, our Chennai factory is manufacturing advanced telecom equipments and has the capacity to export approximately 37% of the facility’s production across the Asia Pacific after meeting local demand”.


“We also procure hundreds of millions of dollars worth of supplies from Indian companies. Our India operations are completely indigenized and we have also attained ISO 27001 certification for complying with Information Security regulations as per Department of Telecommunications guidelines”, said Sandeep Girotra, Region Head, India, Nokia Siemens Networks.
