Vodafone launches its network in high altitude Sela Pass Arunachal Pradesh

Vodafone India, on Tuesday announced the launch of its network and services in Sela Pass in Tawang District of Arunachal Pradesh. With this move, Vodafone now offers full-fledged voice and data services to the visitors & residents of this high-altitude mountain pass located 13,700 feet above sea level.

With this expansion, Vodafone now covers 608 towns & villages across 13 districts of Arunachal Pradesh and continues to expand its network.

“As part of our ongoing endeavour to strengthen network in Arunachal Pradesh with robust telecom infrastructure, we feel extremely proud to announce that Vodafone is now fully equipped to provide excellent connectivity and services to the residents of Sela Pass, which is one of the most challenging terrains to set up telecom infrastructure. The network expansion to Sela Pass will enable these distant customers as well as visitors to and from Tawang to exercise their choice for telecom services and remain seamlessly connected. We are here to win hearts and gain the trust of our customers in this market and we are achieving that in a steady manner. Vodafone’s objective is to be the preferred telecom service provider in Assam and North East and be seen as a Company that provides value,” said Alok Verma, Business Head – Assam and North East Circle, Vodafone India.

In Assam and North East Circle, Vodafone operates in seven states spanning across 17,800 towns and villages diverse indemographic landscape, catering to an equally diverse populace in terms of culture and language. Presently, with over 5100 cell sites, 73,000+ distribution touch points and more than 305 retail touch points; Vodafone offers one of the most robust network connectivity to an overall subscriber base of over 5.2 million in Assam and North East.
