Synchronica clicks Mobile gateway deal with Indian handset manufacturer
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  23 Mar 2010

UK-based mobile email, instant messaging and data synchronization provider, Synchronica today clicked a reseller agreement deal with an unnamed Indian handset manufacturer whereby the former’s mobile gateway solutions will come incorporated with the handsets.

Under the deal, the manufacturer is contractually committed to an initial purchase order for 25,000 licenses of Mobile Gateway, to be bundled with devices.

Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO of Synchronica, said, “Clearly the rapidly expanding Indian telecoms market is a key emerging market for Synchronica and our products are ideally suited for device manufacturers and operators who want to offer attractive mass-market data services to all users, not just those with high-end devices but also customers with entry-level devices. Our new partner in India, with more than 300 channel partners across the country and access to more than 20,000 retail outlets, is in an excellent position to help accelerate sales of Mobile Gateway licenses in India.”

Informa predicts the non-voice revenues in the Indian mobile services market to scale past the $ 13.8 billion mark by 2014 with messaging services contributing almost 30% of this total.
