Apple to launch iPhone 5 on September 12-Report
TT Correspondent |  |  31 Jul 2012

If rumours are to be believed Apple may launch much talked about iPhone 5 and the iPad Mini on September 12.

Apple will unveil the new iPhone also also a new iPod Nano on September 12 and the products will be available for purchase from September 21, according to reports.

The fifth iteration of the device that helped revolutionize the mobile industry is expected to sport a thinner, larger screen and a smaller dock connector, among other tweaks, sources and analysts have told reuters.

Some analysts said a September release date for the new iPhone would work financially for Apple, helping the company end the calendar third quarter on a high note with a possible heavy demand for the upcoming holiday shopping season.

Photos of what look like a close to final version of the iPhone 5 surfaced on the Internet this weekend, showing its curved backplane, all of its buttons, the speakers, and its screen, as well as a headphone jack that has been relocated from the top of the phone to the bottom.
