The Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) which met on Tuesday to discuss some of the issues related to the TRAI proposals for spectrum auction once again failed to take any decision on the pricing. 

The high power ministerial panel will meet again after June 20 to decide on this contentious issue.

The decision had be deferred as the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), failed to come out with  a presentation on the likely impact of its suggested pricing of spectrum on mobile phone tariffs as was expected earlier.

The process auction of spectrum available after the cancellation of 2G licences will however begin on August 6.

The EGoM has also reportedly approved the plan that at least 10 megahertz of spectrum will be auctioned in eight slots.
