2G: Raja to cross-examine his former aide Achary on Monday
TT Correspondent |  |  02 Jan 2012

The former telecom minister and the prime accused in 2G spectrum allocation case A Raja will put up his defense on Monday in the special court with cross-examination of his former additional personal secretary Aseervatham Achary.

The special CBI court will again witness the flurry of activities in the 2G trials from Monday after its adjournment for a week.

Achary had testified against Raja as witness saying the former telecom minister had a long association with the accused corporate honchos and DMK leader Kanimozhi since the times he headed the environment and forest ministry. He had said that these executives had met him around 20 times since 2004. The corporate executives he had pointed his finger at were Sanjay Chandra, Shahid Balwa and Vinod Goenka.

Achary had even surprised everyone in the court saying that his life is under threat. Raja later had dismissed this calling it a drama to influence the bail plea of RK Chandolia, a co-accused in 2G case.
