Russian telecom major Sistema which holds 56.68% stake in Sistema Shyam Teleservices, has filed a curative petition at the Supreme Court, seeking a review of the 2G licence cancellation, reports CNBC-TV18. It argues that Sistema was the lone CDMA bidder.
Sistema Shyama lost 22 licences following Supreme Court February 2 verdict canceling 122 permits allotted during the former telecom minister A Raja. The allocations of these licences were believed to be rigged. Curative petition is filed after the dismissal of review petition and is decided in the chambers of judges.
While dismissing the review petitions of SSTL and six other telecom companies, the apex court had said its Februray 2 decision did not suffer from any error apparent warranting its reconsideration.
It is not fair to put us with other 2G applicants, a Sistema official told the channel. "The legal case is different as the company is a pure play CDMA operator," official argued adding, "no other operator is inline for CDMA spectrum." |
