Manoj Sinha replaces Ravi Shankar Prasad as the new Minister of Telecommunications and IT

At a crucial stage where, Indian telecom industry is going to witness its biggest spectrum auction, Manoj Sinha, 57 will be the new Minister for Telecoms and IT, India.

Ravi Shankar Prasad would now be handling the additional responsibility of Law and Justice Ministry and also retaining control of electronics and information technology Ministry.

On the other hand, Sinha would also continue as Minister of State for Railways including his new responsibility as a telecom minister of India.

Manoj Sinha was born on 1-July-1959 in Bhumihar Brahmin family Mohanpura, Ghazipur district, India. He was the member of Lok Sabha. He is a member of the BJP from the Ghazipur constituency.

Manoj Sinha did his M. Tech. in civil engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. Sinha was the President of the Banaras Hindu University Students Union in1982.

Manoj Sinha was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1996, 1999 and in 2014. Sinha has also been a member of BJP national council from 1989 to 1996.

Manoj Sinha is married to Neelam Sinha and has two children, (son and a daughter).
