Chinese companies not allowed in BSNL’s Rs 10,000 cr project for Defence, says report

The optical network to be build by BSNL on behalf of DoT for the Defence forces as part of the MoU reached between the two parties has received formal approval from the Cabinet. Economic Times reports that Chinese vendors will not be allowed to participate in the project on security grounds.

 

ET further says that BSNL will now float a tender for the project on December 07 with last for submitting EoI to be January 15. Vendors are required to transfer technology know-how as well as certain IPR with BSNL and other government organizations and agencies involved in the project.
