Uninor, on Wednesday announced the appointment of its new Chief Operating Officer. Tanveer Mohammad takes up this position from his current responsibility as the Chief Technology Officer at Grameenphone, Telenor Group’s operating company in Bangladesh, which is also the largest mobile operator in the country.
Tanveer Mohammad brings with him more than 17 years of operational, development and corporate experience in Telecom Industry. Joining Grameenphone as a System Engineer in 1997 Tanveer has played a key role in building the Technology organization while progressing through the organization in various leadership roles within Technology division and eventually taking up the CTO role in 2010. He has also played an integral role in transforming Grameenphone into a 3G operator last year.

Uninor’s present COO Ruza Sabanovic moves to the Telenor Group headquarters in Oslo to take up the position of the Head of Group Technology. In this position, Ruza will drive the network and IT transformation agenda across Telenor Group companies in Europe and Asia.
