ZTE launches IMS based multi network voice solution
TT Correspondent |  |  25 Apr 2012

ZTE Corporation a publicly listed global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, on Tuesday unveiled its IMS based 4 net convergence voice solution at the IMS World Forum in Madrid.

At the end of 2011, ZTE had signed more than 140 IMS commercial/trial contracts with global operators, and deployed scores of commercial networks in Italy, Poland, Spain, Turkey, Albania, Saudi Arabia, Philippine, Singapore, India and the USA among others.

The solution supports one number service (voice/SMS) and seamless voice switchover in GSM, WCDMA, LTE or WiFi networks. Subscribers can use a single number to answer a call or receive an SMS in various Radio Access Network scenarios.

Convergence is becoming ever more valued. Based on this demand, ZTE has launched a carrier grade solution; the IMS based 4 net (GSM/ WCDMA/LTE/WiFi) convergence voice solution.

With this solution, operators can provide voice communication with a higher quality than internet voice services such as Google voice and Skype but additionally they are also using the advantages of multi network convergence to provide richer voice services, such as One Number multi access and real time voice switchover (DRVCC, SRVCC).

By making full use of existing infrastructure and number resources, operators can differentiate themselves and compete with third party internet service providers regarding internet voice services.

“ZTE’s IMS based 4 net convergence voice solution focuses on improving operators’ competitive position with regards to LTE network operation by providing a multi network voice solution that promises a high quality voice experience that is scalable across multiple platforms benefiting both the operator and end user alike,” said Liu Jianhua, ZTE Core Network Product CEO.

ZTE’s IMS solution fully adapts to operators’ requirements around full service development and network convergence evolution. It supports seamless access for all network types, provides a targeted mature solution for the enterprise and individual subscribers, supports operator deployment of various multimedia convergence services, and facilitates operators working towards LTE.
