Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJIL), on Monday said it plans to roll out 4G services through an "integrated ecosystem" using three frequency bands and the government has already allotted it various codes needed for providing the services, reported PTI.
A mobile country code is used in combination with a mobile network code to uniquely identify a mobile phone operator using the various communication network platforms. RJIL is the only private player with pan-India broadband wireless access (BWA) spectrum. It also acquired spectrum in 800 MHz and 1800 MHz in auctions held in 2014 and 2015.
"RJIL's total equivalent spectrum footprint has increased from 597.6 MHz to 751.1 MHz (including uplink and downlink), strengthening its position as the largest holder of liberalised spectrum," the company said.
The company said it has launched trial Wi-Fi hot spots across India and is in the process of entering agreements with various states and local authorities to provide Wi-Fi services. |
