Orange launches Multiservice IP eXchange offer for high quality converged IP services
TT Correspondent |  |  03 May 2012

Orange launches Multiservice IP eXchange offer for high quality converged IP services. Multiservice IP eXchange is a solution for mobile and fixed line operators that provides more efficient connectivity between networks, notably for international traffic, allowing operators to better control costs and optimize their revenues.

The solution provides a single connection to all Orange wholesale solutions, including voice and mobile data services, enabling service providers to offer their customers the highest quality of service.

Multiservice IP eXchange, the new wholesale service launched by Orange for operators, brings best in class quality of service and cost efficiency. Smooth implementation of Orange's IPX services, which includes voice, messaging (MMS), signalling and mobile applications, is made possible through a fast, secure and reliable

private IP network.

Through this offer, which is compliant with the GSMA's IPX framework, mobile and fixed network operators benefit from a global footprint and a high density network with worldwide access links and managed Customer Premises Equipment options. With easier and quicker access to ‘à la carte’ services, Multiservice IP eXchange also reduces Time to Market, hence optimizing profitability and revenue growth.

"Multiservice IP eXchange provides an efficient combination of quality, agility and innovation to give service providers a powerful competitive advantage. This single, secure point of access to all our wholesale services also enables mobile and fixed line operators to optimize network costs and benefit from economies of scale," said Isabelle Lorin de Reure, VP Marketing Strategy and Development, International Carriers, Orange.

This new service forms part of Orange’s strategy to provide its customers with innovative international wholesale services. Orange is currently the world leader for High Definition Voice for mobile phones that has been launched in 15 countries worldwide and that enriches the end user experience. As an active member of the GSMA, Orange is also working on several programs to develop services that will change the way endusers communicate such as Rich Communication Suite enhanced (RCS-e), near Field Communications (NFC), Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Mobile Money and much more. Orange Multiservice IP eXchange will therefore allow operators to enjoy the next generation of services that will be developed in the coming years as new 4G networks are launched.
