Imagine Communications partners with Falcon IP/Complete to accelerate deployment of Multiscreen IP Video
TT Correspondent |  |  27 Jun 2012

Imagine Communications, a leading innovator in advanced digital video solutions, today announced that Falcon IP/Complete has become a technical partner and reseller of Imagine's industry leading transcoding solutions for multiscreen IP video.

Under terms of the agreement, Falcon will sell and install Imagine's full range of ICE Video Platform transcoding solutions to cable, telco and OTT video service providers. Falcon Communications has more than 40 years experience in designing and building network infrastructures for the telecommunications market and has established itself as a pioneer in facilitating IP video deployments throughout N. America.

Commenting on the implementation, Media Three Corp.'s President Paul Butler said, "The Imagine ICE Video Platform gives us the best visual quality streams at the lowest bitrates, and their platform is uniquely built on powerful hardware coupled with flexible and robust processing software that can easily scale to meet our current and future needs at an affordable price. Falcon was the right choice for this implementation based on the overwhelming evidence of their exemplary capabilities, commitment to their clients and partners and deep experience with multi-vendor design utilizing industry proven products, specifically end to end IPTV."

“We’re excited to be working with such a well-known and respected company like Falcon IP/Complete and we anticipate this agreement will help accelerate the deployment of multiscreen IP video for service providers and ensure the highest quality of experience for their subscribers,” said Imagine's Director of Market Development Scott Solovei.

Imagine's ICE Video Platform is a widely deployed video processing solution that gives service providers the ability to deliver an unparalleled viewing experience for linear IPTV broadcasting and multiscreen transcoding, while realizing the most efficient network resource consumption. This powerful, multi-codec, multi-rate, multi-resolution video processing platform currently serves thousands of live streams to over 20 million N. American households.

“We pride ourselves on meeting our customers' increasing demands for unsurpassed service and technology in the growing market for IP video and Imagine's demonstrated ability to secure the best picture quality, system density and reliability represents overwhelming evidence as a natural choice for an immensely compelling offering to our customers," said Falcon's VP of Sales and Business Development Brett Fasullo.

Available in a dense 1RU (Rack Unit) package or as a NEBS-compliant Blade System, the Imagine ICE Video Platform is the ideal solution for IPTV service providers who need to deploy more channels with higher picture quality, and then rapidly and seamlessly add support for multiple devices such as tablets, PCs and smartphones. By integrating audio and video transcoding in the same platform as PIP (Picture in Picture) creation, multiscreen transcoding and multi-format media streaming, the ICE Video Platform provides an all in one solution for quality, scalability and reliability.
