Qualcomm Incorporated has announced a collaboration to supply the company’s latest Snapdragon S4 Pro platform to LG Electronics (LG), which will enable LG’s new smartphone currently in production, with anticipated commercial availability in September in Korea with global rollout to follow.
This new smartphone will be the newest global device to offer a quad core CPU Snapdragon S4 processor as well as LTE capabilities together, delivering a superior mobile experience for voice, web browsing, games, user interfaces and other graphics applications. The device will also include the Adreno 320 GPU and support for higher HD resolution displays.
“LG has a well-earned reputation for offering the latest and greatest in LTE devices, and we are excited to work with them to bring this commercial quad-core CPU and LTE-compatible Snapdragon platform to the global market,” said Raj Talluri, senior vice president of product management at Qualcomm. “This device is designed to deliver a superior mobile experience and powerful LTE capabilities.”
In addition to the quad-core power, the device will offer S4 Pro-exclusive features, including seamless toggling between 3G, 4G and LTE networks designed to ensure that calls from the LTE-enabled phone do not drop if users enter an area with a different network. |
