TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  08 Jul 2010

MTNL plans to float EoI (Expression of Interest) from private players towards deploying broadband wireless access network. The business alliance will be on a revenue sharing basis.

"The expression of interest for BWA for deploying network on a revenue sharing basis, which was to open last month (June 19) will now be open shortly," said MTNL Chairman and Managing Director Kuldip Singh.

The operator plans to allow one successful bidder in each licensed area of Delhi and Mumbai. MTNL plans to adopt the IEEE 802.16e standard for WiMAX services.
