Nortel bags CDMA order from China Telecom
TT Bureau |  |  11 Nov 2008

Nortel announced bagging an order from China Telecom to deploy CDMA Enhanced 1X technology which in turn would enable China Telecom to offer enhanced voice and data services to its subscribers.

The deployment will have to be carried out in seven provinces of operations of China Telecom.

Nortel will also supply Enhanced Base Station Controllers and Base Stations to China Telecom as part of the deal. Nortel claims that these products have been designed and built to significantly reduce the power consumption with unique innovations in Power Amplifiers and Transceivers.

The development however remained over shadowed by Nortel’s dismal Q3 result announcement.
