Zain KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), one of the biggest operators in the region, on Monday said that the company is the first in the Middle East to deploy DOVADO's mobile broadband routers.
The Mini Router offers 3G and 4G USB modem support allowing subscribers to share their service across multiple devices in the home or office environment. Furthermore it also allows them to upgrade the mobile broadband modem whenever a new model is made available. The Zain KSA Mini Router is based on DOVADO's TINY model that features the latest 802.11n WLAN standard, as well as an Ethernet LAN port, a WAN port for DSL failover and a SmartUSB port capable of re-powering the inserted USB modem in the event of any failures.
DOVADO's products support Zain's 4G/LTE modems operating in band 3 (1800 FDD), including the Quanta 1KRZ along with the Huawei E392, as well as all of the existing/legacy 3G USB modems offered by the operator.
"As a pioneer operator in the Middle East to launch 4G/LTE last year was an important milestone for not only Zain KSA, but the entire region. We have now built on this development by incorporating router modem support from DOVADO." said Saud Abdullah AlBawardi, Chief Commercial Officer of Zain KSA.
"Since the first commercial 4G networks were deployed in Scandinavia over
two years ago the technology has now become a global phenomenon, bringing wired performance to the wireless world" said Erik Arthur, CEO of DOVADO FZ LLC.
