  State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today announced the reduction in STD rates of its cellular services by 40- 50 percent, reflecting the growing competition among telecom service providers.
The operator has also announced a slash in the call charges of its landline services by 50 percent.
According to the revised call rates on landline services, STD rates have been slashed from Rs. 2.40 per minute to Rs.1.20 per minute to all networks in general and ‘sulabh’ plan.
“The intra-circle call charges, to BSNL network and inter circle (STD) call charges to all the networks has also been reduced by 50 per cent,” Goyal said.
The roaming charges under prepaid and postpaid serves have also been redrawn.
Earlier, state-owned telecom service provider MTNL and private telecom operators like Airtel and Vodafone including others had brought down their STD and roaming charges. |
