  Motorola has come up with a new rugged handset, MC75 to provide assistance to enterprise field workers in the areas of delivery, sales and service.
The device, supporting 3G networks like HSDPA, is an updated version of its previous handset, MC70 which only supports 2.5G wireless networks. This new device running on Windows Mobile 6.0 operating system includes features like integrated GPS, a 2-megapixel camera, voice and data transmissions support, 3.5-inch display and is equipped with 802.11 a/b/g wireless connectivity alongwith a VGA colour display.
The device measuring 7.05 x 3.3 x 1.7 inches and weighing 14.9 ounces can also be used in a Wi-Fi network alone or between wireless LAN’s and cellular networks, claims the company.
Commenting upon the development, Brian Viscount, vice president of mobile computing products, Motorola said “The new MC75 is a full-featured wireless WAN, wireless LAN and wireless PAN device that delivers simultaneous access to voice, data, GPS navigation for location-based services and helps enterprises to improve workforce automation, reduce data errors and enable productivity.”
The handset MC75 is expected to be available in July with a price range between $2,635 and $3,035. |
