Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd unveiled two handsets, W510 and F268 which are positioned as eco-friendly handsets since most of the components used are bio-degradable, claims the company.

The manufacturing of W510 involves use of ‘Bio plastic’ made from natural material extracted from corns as against the common plastic material produced from petroleum, said the company. Further heavy metals like Lead, Mercury, and Cadmium are not taken into use.

Also it’s other handset F268 alongwith its accessories exclude use of materials like BFRs (Brominated Flame Retardant) or PVC. In addition the handset is manufactured in full compliance with the guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy, claims the company.

Both the phones W510 and F268 are expected to hit the markets in June.
