Bharti 'test launches' its DTH services

Bharti Groups'' DTH subsidiary, Bharti Telemedia has introduced a test launch of its services at Gurgaon to be followed by nationwide commercial launch by September.

 

The company is offering 10 channels as of now but intends to increase it near about 220 channels after the commercial launch. IT has employed MPEG-4 channel compression technology for transmission. 

 

The company claims that it is in final stages of negotiations with leading broadcasters.
