  India has assumed prime importance in business plans of global telecom vendors. Even as BSNL announced its plans to float a mega-tender for 93 million GSM lines, new entrant in the country’s mobile services sector, Videocon-owned Datacom announced its plans to float a 70 million GSM line tender.
"We shall be releasing Request for Proposal (RFP) from telecom vendors for 70 million GSM lines. Our plan is to start rolling out network by August this year," announced Ravi Sharma, CEO of Datacom.
The company has already received start-up spectrum for 4 out of the 22 circles in the country.
Additionally the company is also in talks with global players for a strategic partnership in its foray. |
