Option Service selects Sangoma SS7 Gateway for IP telephony
TT Correspondent |  |  05 May 2012

Option Service, a provider of telecommunications services throughout France, has selected Sangoma's NetBorder SS7 VoIP Gateway for interconnection with France Telecom's SS7 network. Option Service operates over 1500 xDSL links used by businesses and enterprises for voice and data connectivity services.

"We are delighted that Option Service selected the Sangoma NetBorder SS7 VoIP Gateway for interconnection with the France Telecom network," stated Xavier Paour, president of IT-LOGIQ. "We were confident that the reliability and ease of integration offered by the NetBorder solution will provide Option Service with cost effective network signaling interconnections that are compatible with the French SPIROU SS7 protocol variant."

Comprised of field proven SS7 and SIP protocol stacks and control software, and award winning digital PSTN interface boards, Sangoma's NetBorder SS7 VoIP Gateways is one of a broad array of Sangoma products that address the need to interconnect disparate networks, technologies, protocols, and applications throughout the enterprise environment.

According to Philippe Laredo of Service Option, "While SPIROU compliance is an absolute requirement for connection to the France Telecom network, the ease with which we were able to integrate the Sangoma technology with our VoIP solutions truly set it apart, and sealed our selection."

Service Option provides IP Telephony services to small businesses through large enterprises through service models that include on-premise IP-PBX deployments, gateway services to existing legacy PBX systems, and fully hosted services.

"Even as the business world moves steadily towards IP telephony, there is a real need to interface with the existing carrier infrastructure that relies heavily on SS7 for signaling, call routing and call control," said Frederic Dickey, director of product management at Sangoma. "Sangoma's flexible gateways facilitate carrier network connections with field proven protocol and signaling technology that innovative service providers such as Service Option can quickly and easily integrate in value added solutions for businesses."
