Tulip Telecom ties up with Polycom to offer high-definition managed video conferencing solution
TT Correspondent |  |  07 Mar 2012

Tulip Telecom Ltd. (Tulip), India''s leading Enterprise Data Services provider has signed an agreement with Polycom, the global leader in standards-based unified communications (UC) solutions, in India, to offer a high definition managed video conferencing solution to Indian businesses on a hosted model.

The solution is a pure cloud-based service and is targeted primarily at the large and medium enterprises offering complete scalability and interoperability.

Tulip will offer video conferencing and telepresence services to its customers on a hosted model, where businesses can leverage high-end, telco-grade infrastructure hosted by Tulip in its data centres. Users can use the technology with minimal upfront cost on a 'pay-as-you-use' model, making it an extremely scalable service.

The voice and video communications industries are currently witnessing enormous growth and momentum with more and more organisations adopting cloud-based services, which calls for a reduced complexity in video infrastructure so that service providers can build scalable and inexpensive video networks.

"This collaboration is in line with our commitment to offer world class services to our enterprise customers and strengthen our position as an enterprise data services player." said Sukhmani Bedi, Director - Product Management, Tulip Telecom.

"Enterprises will continue to adopt a blend of cloud and premise based approaches to meet their UC needs, and Tulip is best positioned to address that market and offers its customers one window for all their data services needs."

"We are pleased to be offering this high-definition managed video conferencing solution in collaboration with Tulip, which provides several advantages to customers designed to help reduce the entry barrier for the adoption of visual communication solutions, and further reiterates our commitment to bring the most advanced and innovative unified communications solutions to market, said. Neeraj Gill, Managing Director, India & SAARC for Polycom.
