Alcatel-Lucent introduces new cloud-based unified communications solutions for enterprises
TT Correspondent |  |  17 Feb 2014

Alcatel-Lucent has said that it introduced new cloud-based enterprise communications solutions for both small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and an expansion of services for mid-to-large enterprises.

Alcatel-Lucent’s new OpenTouch Office Cloud (OTOC) solution is a comprehensive unified communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) offer. Building on the latest advances in communications services and applications to improve employee productivity and enhance customer service, OTOC applies Alcatel-Lucent’s successful OmniPCX™ Office RCE technology foundation.

With more than 17 million users globally of OmniPCX Office – which delivers a pre-configured server for business telephony, customer service, enhanced business operations, with reduced operational costs.

OTOC will enable existing SMB customers to shift their CPU to the cloud for instant access to the newest, best-in-class unified communications services available, ensuring optimal employee productivity and focus on their core business activities.
OTOC is particularly of interest for value-added distributors as they help customers shift to the cloud and make a compelling offer for current CPE-based OXO customers to transform their networks, and help create customer retention and loyalty.
Avita in Ireland and Synelyans in France, have been named as launch channel partners for the first deliveries of OTOC in their respective countries. Additional partners will shortly be announced for the Asia-Pacific and central northern European markets.
Alcatel-Lucent will update its OpenTouch Enterprise Cloud (OTEC) solution, offering a new CPE-2-Cloud transformation program which gives channel partners more opportunities to address customers seeking full, hybrid or overlay cloud options.
Eric Penisson, General Manager of the Enterprise Communications Business Division at Alcatel-Lucent said, ”The ability to help business adopt cloud-based services is the focus of our OpenTouch Cloud suite.  Both OpenTouch Office and OpenTouch Enterprise Cloud give employees the collaborative experience they want, and have been extremely well received by our channel partners who recognize the value our cloud-based services bring to their existing and potential customers.“
“Alcatel-Lucent differentiates with unique products and solutions delivering a new conversation experience combined with rich and proven telephony, with unique consumption models based on 100% flexibility and absence of penalty, and with one technology that can be deployed on the premise, in the cloud or as an overlay to an existing premise infrastructure”, he added.
