  In a unique initiative, Intel India announced launch of a industry-wide movement with an aim to drive broadband connectivity in the country. The movement involving government bodies, industry associations as well as private enterprises, intends to mobilize people, resources and infrastructure with an aim for overall development and future success, says Intel.
On the occasion, Intel unveiled its range of devices for internet access which will be made available at path-breaking rock bottom price of Rs 5000.
Intel also said that service provider BSNL has tied up with it to offer affordable WiMAX services in the country.
Intel claims to have the support from The Manufacturers’ Association for Information Technology (MAIT), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) and the WiMax Forum.
Education service provider, NIIT will contribute to the movement by offering courses on internet education and thereby helping to increase awareness. A similar initiative will be undertaken by Tata Communications, Tata Teleservices and Intel. Further Internet biggie, Google, RCom, Croma and Tata Indicom have also pledged their support to the initiative. |
