Avaya launches new Unified Communications solution for Enterprises based on virtualization
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  14 Oct 2009

Leading Enterprise Communications solution provider, Avaya has launched a new Avaya Aura System Platform for midsized enterprises which is basically a single server unified communications solution for enterprises with employee strength from 100 to 2400 capable of supporting 250 locations.

The solution is based on the virtualization concept and offers a single hardware to run multiple applications. The solution enables unmodified versions of Avaya Communication Manager, Voice Messaging, SIP Enablement Services, Application Enablement Services, Utility Services and Media Services to be deployed on a single server.

Avaya claims that the new solution will result in 75% reduction in hardware, power and cooling and maintenance requirements ultimately resulting in low TCO as well as an eco-friendly approach. Moreover the deployment of the solution is possible over 1-2 hours with an optional backup server for redundancy.

“When we launched Avaya Aura in May, it provided a breakthrough solution for large enterprises looking to run their unified communications and contact center systems more efficiently," said Alan Baratz, president, Global Communications Systems and senior vice president at Avaya. “With the release of Avaya Aura midsize solution for enterprises, we provide the same, high-performing functionality to even more businesses.”

The new solution is available in both Standard and Enterprise edition. The Enterprise edition offers all inclusive end-user package while customers of Standard edition can acquire the same package for $ 60 per user.

The Avaya Aura midsize solution for enterprises will be globally available in November.
