China Mobile in partnership with Samsung will reportedly provide the country’s locally developed third generation mobile services during the Olympics Games in August.

According to the reports, China Mobile and Samsung have already presented the Beijing Olympic Committee with 15,000 handsets that operates on the technology.  

However this move of providing 3G mobile services does not mean that the international visitors will be able to use it on their own mobile phones, which usually run on the competing global standards.
