Samsung to launch what it claims to be “world’s first mobile TV slider phone”

Samsung has announced to come up with what it claims to be the world’s first mobile TV slider phone, the P960 in Europe.

 

The company said that the phone supports two kinds of mobile digital television broadcast namely Digital Video Broadcast- Convergence of Broadcast and Mobile Service (DVB-CBMS) and Open Mobile Alliance Mobile Broadcast Service Enabler Suite (OMA-BCAST).

 

OMA-BCAST supports broadcast technologies like DVB-H, 3GPP MBMS, 3GPP2 and mobile unicast streaming systems.

 

The P960 phone having 16.7mm thin slider incorporates 2.6 inch screen, EPG, PIP, B&O ICE Power amplifier, MP3 player and Bluetooth.

 

The phone is expected to ship from May in selected European markets.
