Kolkata Knight Riders to enable fans receive team photos on mobile phones
TT Bureau |  |  16 May 2008

A tie-up announced between IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, owned by Shahrukh Khan and MobShare, a mobile media sharing service provider, enables cricket fans to receive exclusive photos of the team on their GPRS-enabled mobile handset.

According to the collaboration, pictures of the team and fans will be clicked and uploaded on the team’s official website. And the website users who have chosen to receive these pictures will then receive an SMS with a link to the image in real-time. On clicking the link users will be directed to a WAP page, which will have the photo along with a banner advertisement.

Following this, MobShare intends to introduce similar service for the fans of other IPL teams as well. The company is reportedly in talks with other IPL teams to bring out similar feature on their websites too.
