SingTel launches mio TV services using Nokia-Siemens solutions

Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) has chosen Nokia Siemens networks’, Media Delivery Solution (MDS) 3.5 for its mobile TV services named mio TV to add another dimension to accessing pay TV content anytime, anywhere.

 

Nokia Siemens’ solution based on Adobe’s Flash Lite technology will offer SingTel users access to live TV channels with electronic program guide (EPG) information and video-on-demand (VoD). Further the solution can be extended to support various standards including video streaming (unicast), and future technologies, said Nokia Siemens.

 

Commenting upon the partnership with Nokia, Wong Soon Nam, Vice President, Consumer Marketing, SingTel said “With Nokia Siemens Networks’ Mobile TV solution, users will enjoy the same familiarity they are used to at home and not miss their favourite shows when they are on the move.”

 

“This deal demonstrates our ability to partner with forward thinking operators like SingTel to make the most of industry-leading solutions such as Nokia Siemens Networks’ MDS”, said Thomas Yeo, Head of SingTel Singapore Customer Team, Nokia Siemens Networks.
