Airtel to offer IPTV, DTH services

Airtel will launch its IPTV services in NCR in two months time and pan-India DTH services in the first quarter of next fiscal.

 

Bharti Airtel General Manager (IPTV) Puneet Garg said, “We are waiting for regulatory approvals... as soon as we get the approvals, we will roll out our IPTV services in the next two months."

 

Garg said, "We conducted trials for IPTV last year and are now ready to launch it commercially. We have also tied-up with content providers for the roll-out."

 

Bharti head of DTH services, N Arjun said that the company has recently acquired the approval to offer DTH services and will launch the service by Q1 of next fiscal year.

 

In the initial phase Bharti will invest Rs 150 crore. It will set up its infrastructure near Gurgaon  to uplink and broadcast. It has acquired transponders from the recently launched 4CR Insat.
