TT Bureau |  Bangalore |  24 Oct 2007

Geneva Software Technologies (GSTL) launched a multi-lingual SMS service called Geneva E2C enabling users to send up to one lakh SMS from a PC to mobiles in 11 different Indian languages.

Company MD Murali Reddy said that the solution is based on patented Vivid technologies and it allows rendering any world language on all electronic dislay irrespective of device constraints.

"Given the booming mobile service industry in the country, a higher business potential can be reached in the SMS market only if the language barrier is crossed and the rural population reached. E2C is the first of its kind product in this regard," he said.

GSTL has recently tied-up with leading IT company eSys for the distribution of E2C in India. And is also in talks with Nokia, Vodafone and Spice to extend the E2C service to untapped markets in India.

E2C is priced at Rs 7,699 and has offered a free package of 10,000 SMS for a limited period.
