Google ties up with Tele Atlas for enhanced map-based services

Google announced its partnership with Tele Atlas, a leading global provider of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location-based solutions under which the internet giant will leverage Tele Atlas maps and other content in over 200 countries worldwide.

 

The agreement will enhance Google’s portfolio of map-based services and navigation offerings across mobile and other platforms while enable Tele Atlas to access user inputs from online community of map users for making changes in maps to further increase the quality and richness of the service.

 

Commenting on the alliance, Bill Henry, CEO of Tele Atlas said “Google’s innovation and leadership is undisputed, and we are proud to have the opportunity to be the map foundation for one of the world’s most progressive web companies.”
