Nokia-Siemens’ 4G demonstration truck gets stolen in Sydney

Matters turned awry when following the demonstration by Nokia Siemens of 4G mobile technology LTE in Australia and New Zealand, a truck carrying prototype base stations was thieved.

 

While the truck was retrieved with its contents intact, Detley Otto, head of technology in the company''s Vodafone customer team, said, “We are waiting for a police report.”

 

The equipments were trafficked to New Zealand last week for demonstrating LTE's potential to transmit data at 172 megabits per second using 20MHz of radio spectrum.
