UTV acquires 80% stake in US-based gaming company

UTV Software Communications announced acquiring a 80 percent stake in US-based True Games Interactive which specializes in gaming content. UTV hopes to gain a presence in the console, online, mobile gaming space with this acquisition. It now aims to foray into content creation and publishing.

 

The company intends to invest upto $75 million in its gaming business vertical including overseas acquisitions. The investment also includes $37 million to develop three high-end gaming consoles and set up facilities in Florida, Tokyo and London.

 

UTV has also acquired stake in gaming firms Ignition and Indiagames.
