Vodafone UK allows users to send SMS from Facebook

Vodafone UK said it has forged collaboration to enable users of Social-networking site Facebook send text messages from their profile page to friend’s phones.

 

The service, dubbed as Vodafone Connect to Friends application may offer users the possibility of sending picture messages come October this year.

 

Under the service, new users are given 25 free text credits, with further messages costing 10 pence per SMS and 30 pence per picture message.

 

Commenting on the new service, Pieter Knook, Vodafone Group internet services director said, “With more than 20 million social network users the UK alone it is the perfect market in which to test a Vodafone service that allows all mobile users to send texts and picture messages via the Facebook experience.”
