Tata Elxsi and Discretix, which specialises in embedded security and content protection solutions for mobile devices and flash memory, today announced integration of Discretix’s Multi-Scheme mobile TV security client into Tata Elxsi’s Maverick mobile TV platform.

The tie-up claims that the integrated solution will provide device manufacturers a complete, pre-integrated and fully-validated mobile TV solution, capable of satisfying current and future content protection schemes and supporting the upcoming launch of services.

Tata Elxsi said that with the integration its middleware for Mobile TV services will provide a complete, standard-based service and content protection according to the OMA BCAST Smart Card and DRM profiles, and the DVB-H 18Crypt profile.

“By adding robust, Multi-Scheme security to our Mobile TV middleware, Discretix is supplying a key element of the mobile TV offering” said Nitin Pai, World Wide Marketing Head for Tata Elxsi. “Device manufacturers will benefit from this alliance, being able to rapidly deploy Mobile TV application, fully tested and with full support for existing security standards.”
