TANDBERG Television announced that its MPEG-4 AVC compression and IP multiplexing solutions are being employed by Norwegian Telenor Satellite Broadcasting to offer IP video contribution and direct-to-consumer IPTV services in Scandinavia.

“This is an important project for Telenor Satellite Broadcasting and provides Telenor with a way to encode video at source for delivery over an all-IP transport network that forms the backbone for IPTV services,” said Torkel Thoresen, Chief Technologist at Telenor Satellite Broadcasting.

TANDBERG Television renders encoding and multiplexing from six points across northern Europe and Scandinavia, with all video disseminated across an IP transport network for IPTV consumer services in Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
