Soon credit card services on your mobile phones
Mumbai |  |  18 Jan 2008

Financial Technologies’ subsidiary Atom Technologies has tied up with Axis Bank to develop an application enabling credit card services through mobile phones. The commercial launch is reported to be three months away. The company claims it has received a patent for this solution in US.

The company further claims that its solution ‘Atom Card’ can burn credit card data to a mobile phone and that too over- the-air i.e. by making a call or sending a SMS. The data will be stored in a 2-D bar code format and cannot be read even the user thus ensuring security in case of mobile theft. For making purchase an authenticated PIN is to be provided.

The application does not involve any tie-up with operators.
