Yahoo India announces World Search Champion

Yahoo India crowned Rohit Rajpal as World Search Champion, a contest initiated by Yahoo India which involved participants answering 10 questions taking assistance from search portals.

 

“I have played several quizzes but this was a unique experience and important factors to win were quick fingers on the keyboard and a great IQ” said Rohit Rajpal BTech student and winner of the contest.

 

“We are proud to be associated with this innovative, first of its kind contest and were delighted to see over half a million people from India and across the world racing against time to become the first world search champion,” said Nitin Mathur, Director –Marketing, Yahoo! India.

 

Yahoo India claims that its portal for the contest named www.worldsearchchampionship.com was ranked 64th for the month of October 2008 in India and registered more than 17 million page views.
