Telesoft launches location-based services in India

UK-based Telesoft Technologies announced the availability of its flagship location based services product, HINTON in the Indian market. The company says that its solution enables applications like location-based advertising, E911 services, info-point services and navigation aids.

 

The HINTON locator which is connected to the cellular radio access network outputs location data to pinpoint a subscribers'' position with the location accuracy varying upon depending on the density of base-stations and interference from tall buildings and other objects, says the company. The company says that the network-based architecture of the solution makes the service available easily on even entry level handsets.

 

"We chose India for our expansion plans due to its fast growth and willingness to accept new technologies", said Telesoft Technologies' Sales & Marketing Director, Andy Evripides. "Local resources here allow us to show our zest for innovation and our determination to ensure our partners' solutions integrate seamlessly with the telecoms network and quickly provide a return on investment."

 

Telesoft has roped in Soanar as its distribution partner for the Indian market.
