TTSL claims 100 mn downloads for BREW-based VAS applications

Tata Teleservices (TTSL) announced today that its VAS offerings based on BREW solution by Qualcomm has clocked 100 million downloads. The services under the solution were first launched in March 2005.

 

The VAS offerings offered by the alliance include browsing, gaming, social networking, m-commerce, video streaming and news in local languages.

 

Revenue-wise, the services contribute to 13 percent of the company’s total revenues.

 

On achieving this significant milestone, Pankaj Sethi, President, Corporate Services, Tata Teleservices Limited, said, “100 Million BREW download is the testament to the popularity of the applications, as well as the high level of customer satisfaction with our top class applications and services available on the BREW platform.  With BREW capabilities, service providers can provide fun and entertaining wireless content on mobile handsets that promises easy downloads and broad capabilities.  We will continue to leverage unique capabilities of BREW, CDMA technology and Qualcomm’s Single Chip solutions to create a portfolio of compelling service offerings for our growing consumer base.”
