Napster has entered into partnership agreement with Ericsson to offer what it claims to be a superior mobile music experience to customers of Entel PCS, leading Chilean telecommunications operator, for the first time in Latin America.
Under this agreement Ericsson has end-to-end responsibility for systems integration, management of the day-to-day operations, service development, and content and digital rights management.
“Once again, we are the first mobile operator of Latin America in launching a world-class service -- Napster Mobile. Ericsson’s multimedia solution will help us meet our customers’ growing demand for premium and personalized mobile content”, said Carlos Rodríguez, Product and Services Manager of Entel PCS.
Napster mobile service will enable Entel PCS’s users to search, browse, preview and purchase content on their wireless handsets via i-shop and Entel PCS Mobile Portal. The service includes Napster’s list of 4 million songs and tones and offers a dual-delivery option for immediate downloads to subscribers’ mobile phones and PCs, thus adding to user convenience.
