FarmVille developer, Zynga sets up India office

US-based social gaming company, Zynga has opened its new office in Bangalore marking the company’s first office to be set up outside USA.

The India unit will be responsible on developing games and large-scale infrastructure to support the delivery of Zynga games to millions of players every day.  The company will recruit computer scientists and engineers for its India unit.

 Zynga has to its credit games such as FarmVille, Mafia Wars, Café World, and FishVille.

“Social gaming combines the best of web technical talent with game storytelling talent,” says Zynga CEO Mark Pincus. “India offers some of the world’s most sophisticated and rich technical talent bases and we are thrilled to have a local presence.”

 “We are excited to be launching the first international facility for Zynga and will be focused on hiring about 100 of the best and brightest over the next year,” adds Shan Kadavil, Country Manager, Zynga India. “Our focus will be on building the next generation infrastructure that can handle the tremendous growth of Zynga games.”
